Netflix

Ok so a friend of mine told me that I had to try out Netflix. I was resistant because we had already gotten that $10 for a month of how ever many movies you wanted at Blockbuster. But the other night when I was trying to watch something online and it wasn't working I caved and signed up. The first months is free and you can cancel at any time within that month to not get charged for the next (when you roll into the next month). They didn't have the show that I was looking for (Glee) but they have heaps of other movies and shows and so far it's looking pretty good! Even if we just do it for the free month. I think they say it's only $7.99 a month after that. I feel like there should be some sort of catch but as of yet I haven't found anything! Let me know what you think and if you like it or not!

Bijou ring give away

So I went in to Bijou just to check out some pricing and to look at diamond stud earrings (it’s amazing the range of pricing that is out there!). I saw this display and ad for a giveaway.

Christmas Decor for less

I'm telling you Dollarama is the place to go for a lot of Christmas decor. They have a lot of great, quality items (and of course the really cheap "going to break in a couple of days" items too) for a whole lot less. I shop around a lot and I have found the same thing in Dollarama countless times for of course a fraction of the price. I don't love that it's all (or most) Made in China but if you're on a budget that's just the way it goes sometimes!

Other tips for you:
- If you don't need the decor right away wait until boxing day and stock up for next year!
- Go thrifting or check out bargain stores
- Check into some different DIY ideas and get creative and make your own!

BPA Free plastic wear at Dollarama

If you're like me and are trying to find better storage containers and don't like the idea of using plastic because you worry about all the leaching, but don't want to spend an arm and a leg replacing everything I just discovered (after I bought them) that Dollarama has BPA free "Tupperware". I needed some more containers for all my Christmas baking and this works out perfectly! Just thought I'd pass it on!

Blockbuster

So the photo sort of tells it all. I have to be honest I sort of hate Blockbusters because you have to pay like $7 for a movie! I think that's so dumb! I could pay $3 more and go to the theaters or pay just $3 and go to the cheap theaters! (even less if I have a coupon). But we were there a couple of weeks ago and they told us about this pass. We decided we'd wait till November when we had more time and we'd try it out (no point in getting it if you're only going to use it a couple of times). So far I'm really happy with it. Ya, you don't get new releases but I'm a pretty patient person so that part really doesn't bother me too much and I sort of like having to go out to the movie story and go through all the movies to find something we all like (except when it takes half a hour!)

Groupon is My New Best Friend

This site is like the show and save but it's everywhere (well not everywhere, but in Winnipeg which matters most to me!). I love this site because every couple of days there's a new deal. I've already bought one for the Velvet Glove, Hu's Asian Bistro, and Cupcakology! I love getting things for 50% off! The only down side is you have to put the money out right away to get the coupon, unlike a coupon book where you just pay for the book and have all these coupons to use at any time. Either way I LOVE this site! You should for sure look into it in your city!

Book Sale!!

So the downtown library is having a HUGE books sale. You can get a whole bag (you bring your own reusable bag) for $5.10!!! (plus tax). I went tonight after work and I bought a huge bag with me and I had no trouble filling it! I got all sorts of different books and some gifts too!! (who doesn't love to read?) You should really check it out!

Show & Save Book

If you don't have this book already you should really get it!! $15 for a little (but packed!) book full of coupons, and there's also a little card of coupons that you can use how ever many times you want through the year! I know Marshall and buy one every year and (I) go though it and find all the new places we want to try for dates. It's an amazing way to save money and enable you to go out and do a lot more because you're spending so much less!

Just got a Mark's Work World $10 gift card. They have them until Nov 14th. You have to spend at least $20 to use your $10 off card, but it's pretty easy to spend that that!
