Thrift House: Framed Ollie

Cost: Free

My sister's bf Paul bought this frame at a thrift store to go along with the great drawing he did of our dog Ollie. It was a Christmas gift and I just love it. It's up in the hall on our photo wall. It made a great addition to the photos and drawings we already had up there.

Thrift House: Mirrored Vase

Cost: Free

My sister for this mirrored vase for me for Christmas this last year. We were doing an all vintage/thrift Christmas so we tried to get everything used for one another. It was really fun getting to shop that way for someone else that I knew would really appreciate it.

Thrift House: Chair, Giant Vase & Drift Wood

Cost:
Chair - $4
Vase - $1
Driftwood - Free

I got this chair back in high school because I love that retro style and I held onto it waiting until I had my own place and somewhere where it would fit in more. I struggled to find a place for it but now it's got a perfect home in my bedroom with the vase and driftwood.

My mom found the vase and got it for me to put my air plants in originally. But of course I'm always changing things up.

The driftwood (and rocks) I got when I was traveling along the coast, taking the Pacific Coast Highways. Most of it is from La Push beach in Washington.

Thrift House: Wooden Spoon

Cost: 49 cents

When I was in Seattle I was all these really great hand made spoons. I really wanted one but they were anywhere from $70-$160 and I wasn't going to pay that. Then I saw this one the other day at the thrift store. No, not as cool a shape as the ones I saw in Seattle but the price 100% made up for that! I think I'm going to use it for mixing my dough when I'm baking.

Thrift House: A-Z Book Ends

Cost: $5

I had my eye on this huge book shelf at JYSK and I bought these book ends because they would look great on it. Then we moved into our house and we realized for now we really have no space for that book shelf so they're on this little shelf. I think they still look pretty great!

Thrift House: Rocks & Candle Holder

Cost: $2

I love rocks. I'm sure there are a lot of photos of me from my childhood surrounded by rocks that I had collected, I think I even still have some of them (we had a rail road track behind our house. It was my fav place to hang out and pick new rocks). I bought two of these hand made glass candle holders and then I found these rocks. So pretty. It makes me happy just looking at the rocks. Weird? Well whatever works for you I say!

Thrift House: Punch Bowl & Glasses

Cost: Free

My mom gave these too me (or borrowed? I'm not sure because I've had them for over a year and she doesn't seem to want them back) when I was throwing a party. It's a great set and there's a smaller bowl in there too which is great for, well anything. I love having a set like this, it's so much better then the usual boring punch bowls. I think my mom has had this one since the 80s too.

Thrift House: Sea Shells

Cost: $4?

I bought these when I was around 14. I had a huge obsession with the ocean and anything sea related so when I saw these sea shells I had to get them. I had the more white one first and then I found the other and I was in heaven. I got rid of a lot of things with moving and growing up but I'm really glad I kept these. They're in the bathroom right now and they look great in there.

Thrift House: Napkin Holder

Cost: $3

I forget where I saw one like this originally but it was $30. I loved it but there was no way I was getting it. Then I found this, and well perfect right? I think I need to start buying larger napkins for it but either way I really like it.

Thrift House: Yellow Pillow

Cost: $1

I was looking for a cute little pillow for my green couch and I loved this design but in the department stores they were anywhere from $16-$30 and I was so not interested in paying that for one pillow. Then on a thrifting trip with my mom I found this! $1? Yes please!

Thrift House: The Dishes

Cost: Cheap!

I thought I would just take a picture of the whole cupboard. I bought thrift or got as gift everything on these shelves. It makes me feel good knowing that I paid so much less for all of it. Maybe a total of $30 when new it would have been around $200-$300.

Thrift House: Globe Mugs

Cost: 50 cents each

I broke one of Marshall's favorite mugs (or did I give it away?) so I told him that I would make it up to him and oh did I. I found these. They may not look that great just in this photo but they are! They are Nescafe and are made really well. I don't think we'll be breaking these (and for sure not giving them away!) any time soon!

Thrift House: Mug

Cost: 50 cents

I have a thing for mugs. I don't know what it is but I just love mugs. I have a pretty big collection already so now I just buy them for other people but this set is one of my favorates. I love mugs so much that I don't care if they match, or if I get a complete set of 4 (I only have 3 of these). I just love different mugs and designs. I expectantly love the ones that are made in England. They just seem to know how to do it well!

Thrift House: Yellow Kettle

Cost: $4

I had just broken the lid handle off my old kettle (which was a hand-me-down from my sister when she moved) and I wasn't too sure it was fixable and then I saw this pretty at the thrift store. Marshall wanted one that you could just press a button and the spout lid would open and I wasn't going to spend the $20-$30 on the ones I was seeing in the department stores so this was perfect. I love the yellow color too!

Thrift House: Mini Glass Tray

Cost: $2

I have a few of these already but all are "normal" size so when I saw this mini one I just had to have it. I sort of collect these for parties and just went I like to make things pretty. I have 5 so far. I think one or two more and I'll have to switch to a new thing to collect.

Thrift House: Tea Box

Cost: $5

I was looking for something to put all my tea in and it was pretty much next day and I found this. It wasn't really a question of buying it, it was in the cart before I even thought about it. I saw it a few weeks later on sale in some drug store for $20, and that was on sale.

Thrift House: Cocktail Glasses

Cost: 49 cents each

Aren't these pretty? I was looking hard for the fourth one but it just wasn't there. I'm keeping my eyes open whenever I go thrifting for a good match to make a set but nothing so far. I love the bright color of these.

Thrift House: Tea Box

Cost: Free

My mom was in a thrift store right around the time we moved into our house and this was another "Thought this would be good in your house" gifts. I think it's super cute! I keep it right on the kitchen counter, by the cutting boards, it just fits there.

Thrift House: Salt Rock Light

Cost: Free

I was doing free day with Marshall and I found this! Isn't it great? I couldn't believe that someone got rid of it! I took it home thinking at the very least if it doesn't work I can make a sort of candle holder out of it but now, it worked! My mom and I cleaned it up and it's as good as new. It's home is in our kitchen. It serves as a sort of night light because we keep it on 24 hours. If you don't have one of these you should get one! They have some interesting supposed healing properties.

Thrift House: Chess Board

Cost: Free

My mom bought this Chess Board for Marshall. It sort of came in a few parts. First she found a smaller board with shot glasses, so I guess that was a checkers set. Then she found another set, same size board but with the chess pieces. Then I realized that I had a large board from free day so we put it all together and we get this pretty set. I'm thinking I'll use the smaller two boards as cheese plates, what do you think?
